Relative recent research led to a series of discoveries, all made at Piatra Neamt in the last 15 years and from which emerges that, Brauner, in one form or another, has been linked his whole life to the city where he was born.
Very briefly here are these findings:

The First Discovery

The Margit Kosch chapter, in current form known in the literature... is false!

The real Margit Kosch is from Piatra Neamt and her biography is totally different from that known today. From the year of her death (1936) until his death(1966), Brauner has done everything possible to hide her real identity. Why, you will find out in the third discovery.

The Second Discovery

Victor Brauner was a… mason !!!

You will see below some of his masonic works which of some are autobiographical - notes like years and important events in the life of the artist are present on the back of the paintings.

The Third Discovery

Aproximatively between 1954-1984 there was a big project at PIATRA NEAMT, Romania, project finished by Masonry, after Victor Brauner`s plan!!!

Dedicated in the memory of "Margit Kosch", the massive work was carried around her houses (where she was born and where she died after her`s second marriage). Here, begining with the summer of the year 1966 until 1985 weird things happened, not understood by the majority of Piatra Neamt`s habitants. This was the main reason of hidding the fact that ”MARGIT KOSCH” was from Piatra Neamt.

The Fourth Discovery

In Piatra Neamt project, Brauner contributed with a great ammount of artefacts.

There were about 35 statues, tens of graphic works and a great number of paintings. The paintings, the graphic works and a statue were saved from beeing destroyed. Here they are, as they look today:
